What we protect _ Protecting the vehicles people love

When it comes to special vehicles, Hagerty has your clients covered.

But first… what exactly is a special vehicle, and how do you know?

Sometimes it’s easy: imagine a perfectly preserved 1925 Model T. But a lot of times it’s a little trickier: think about a drab green ‘77 Dodge M886 or a ‘65 milk truck. That’s right: policies through Hagerty can cover vehicles way beyond your typical antique, vintage or classic car — though, of course, we always have and always will love those, too.

Let’s start with cars from the ‘90s (and newer). Did you know that the entire 1990s decade was now 25 or more years ago? And that means that every fun-to-drive car from the ‘90s is officially a classic. We’re talking convertibles, two-door sports cars, and cars with manual transmissions. Keep an eye out for some of our most frequently insured ‘90s vehicles: Corvettes, Mustangs, 911s, Camaros, Miatas, Wranglers and more. These cars deserve coverage designed for classics because, well, they are classics.

And that’s just the beginning. Hagerty also provides protection for collector military vehicles, antique tractors and retired commercial vehicles. And don’t forget about supercars, boats and trucks and SUVs, too.

Need a hand spotting collector vehicles? Here are a few of our top tips:

  • When clients call their car “baby” or have a name for it, it’s probably a collectible.
  • When clients have more vehicles than household drivers, at least one is probably a collectible.
  • When clients say they only drive it in summer, or on nice days, or for shows/parades, it’s probably a collectible.

So no matter the year, make, model or reason it’s so special, be sure to help your clients protect their favorite cars (and more!) with coverage designed for collector vehicles and how they are used.
