Beyond vintage vehicles, we can protect qualifying collector models 1980 or newer.

1980 or Newer Vehicles

Vehicles 1980 and newer that are maintained for collector vehicle activities and of a special interest nature can be considered. Desirable vehicles include convertibles, 2-door sports cars (few 4-door sedans are collectible), cars with big block V8 engines, or vehicles that are rare and have limited production.

To qualify for our program, 1980 and newer vehicles must meet the following requirements:

1980-1989

  • Minimum value is $3,500
  • Vehicle must be in good condition unless under active restoration
  • Annual kilometres must not exceed 8,000

Vehicles 25 Years and Older

  • Minimum value is $3,500
  • Vehicle must be in good condition unless under active restoration
  • Annual kilometres must not exceed 8,000

Vehicles 24 Years and Newer

  • Minimum value is $5,000
  • Vehicle must be in very good condition
  • Annual kilometres allowance:
    • British Columbia, Ontario and Newfoundland & Labrador:
      • 8,000 kilometres for all vehicle years
    • Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan:
      • 6,000 kilometres for vehicles 15-24 years old
      • 8,000 kilometres for vehicles 0-14 years old
  • Vehicles 0-14 years old can be considered in all Provinces except Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador
    • In Ontario, a Competitive or Race Track Exclusion (NPCF RTX) and Restricted Use Warranty (RUW) must be completed and signed prior to issuing or endorsing coverage

Supercar/Exotic

  • Minimum value is $30,000
  • Annual kilometres must not exceed 8,000. (In Nova Scotia, up to 6,000 annual kilometres are acceptable)
  • Usage must include hobby-related usage, like attending car shows and club events
  • Operator(s) must not have more than one minor violation in the past 3 years
  • Operator(s) must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 5 years
  • A vehicle with a top speed of 300 km/h or higher requires:
    • Minimum 25 years driving experience in Canada or the U.S.
    • Operators to have 3+ years' experience driving a high-performance vehicle
  • Vehicles 0-14 years old can be considered in all provinces except Newfoundland & Labrador and Prince Edward Island
    • In Ontario, a competitive or Race Track Exclusion (NPCF RTX) and Restricted Use Warranty (RUW) must be completed and signed prior to issuing or endorsing coverage
